COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) - Coffee County Fire Department responded to a house fire around 4:50 a.m. Saturday morning.
A mobile home on Walker and Bowensmill Road in Douglas caught on fire.
Fire Chief Steve Carver said two residents inside the mobile home smelled smoke and were able to evacuate.
Carver said, because of the high winds and the proximity of the fire to other mobile homes, Coffee County Fire Department called Douglas Fire Department to help.
Coffee County Sheriff's Deputies as well as EMS were also on the scene.
Carver said they had 18 firefighters on the scene.
It took about three hours for firefighters to put out the flames.
The mobile home was completely destroyed, but no one was hurt and no other property was damaged.
Carver says high winds and low humidity weather conditions are dangerous when outdoor burning.
