DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) - Miss Georgia stopped by her hometown in Decatur County Friday, where folks showed her just how important she is to the community.
Decatur County officials unveiled a new sign for Maggie Bridges.
There will be 11 signs just like this one, posted along state highways so all drivers entering into the county can see.
Bridges said it was a bizarre feeling when she saw the signs for the first time on her way from Atlanta.
Bridges said, “I may have my name on a sign, but they love people in their community from toddlers to college students in the same way that they've loved me. And that's what's really special about it.”
Bridges said her pageant days are over, and hopes to graduate from Georgia Tech in December of next year.
