DAWSON, GA (WALB) - The GBI arrested Milton Johnson on Thursday, October 30, after a month long investigation into allegations that Johnson exploited and molested a victim under the age of 16.
Johnson, age 50, of New Hope Road in Dawson, was arrested on criminal warrants charging him with Child Molestation, Aggravated Child Molestation, Sodomy, Aggravated Sodomy, Rape, and Sexual Exploitation of Children.
Johnson remained emotionless as magistrate Judge Linda Freeman read off the charges. "You've been charged with sexual exploitation of children. You've been charged with aggravated sodomy, you've been charged with sodomy, you've been charged with rape, you've been charged with aggravated child molestation and child molestation."
GBI agents arrested Johnson Thursday after a month long investigation. Johnson is accused of molesting a girl, under the age of 16.
No one was at his home on New Hope Road in Dawson, But that wasn't the case on the 21st, when agents were seen taking evidence from the home and also from a storage container behind the house.
"On the sexual exploitation of a child, your bond is $10,000," said the judge.
Johnson was granted $30,000 bond for three of the charges- sexual exploitation of children, sodomy and child molestation.
He will have another bond hearing before a Superior Court judge for the aggravated child molestation, rape and aggravated sodomy charges.
Before he was dismissed, Johnson was ordered to stay away from the victim and her family, if he were to get out on bond.
"If you try to get in touch with her, text, email, phone, personal whatever, they will revoke your bond and they will put you back in jail for stalking."
Johnson is under suicide watch after he threatened to take his own life.
On October 1, 2014, Pataula Judicial Circuit District Attorney Craig Earnest requested the GBI conduct an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Johnson.
Last Tuesday, GBI agents executed a search warrant at Johnson's New Hope Road residence. He is in the Terrell County Jail.
