THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - A Thomas County man is sentenced to two life-terms followed by 110 years in prison.
82-year-old Leon Collins was found guilty of eight counts of child molestation Wednesday afternoon.
Collins was charged back in 2012, after a 10-year old boy said Collins fondled him.
Thomas County Sheriff's Office Chief Investigator Lieutenant Tim Watkins said Collins showed no remorse when the verdict was read.
Watkins said, “The problem is, we probably prosecuted him 40 or 50 years too late. There's no telling how many kids he's molested over those years.”
The Thomas County Superior Court Judge Jim Hardy said Collins was one of the worst cases he's had over his 35-year career.
