ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Former president of the Southwest Georgia Home Builders Association Jack Daniel Garrett was indicted by the Dougherty County Grand Jury for fraud and false statements Wednesday.
Bench warrants were immediately issued for his arrest. Garrett was indicted on four counts of residential mortgage fraud and false statements.
Prosecutors charge that Garrett made mis-statements in contractor affidavits and misrepresentations to mortgage lenders and borrowers.
Court documents also showed the investigation into Garrett's financial operations is ongoing in other counties in South Georgia.
