Owner offers reward to help find those responsible for throwing dog out of moving vehicle

An Albany man is offering a $1000 reward Wednesday night to help catch and convict whoever stole his dog then threw the dog out the window of a moving pickup.

Reggie is currently at Bush Animal Clinic recovering from a broken rib, a collapsed lung, and abrasions. His owner wants answers and justice.

Kris Morrill left his dog in the back of his truck covered with a secure camper shell this morning while grabbing food at the Waffle House on Westover Boulevard.

When he returned to the vehicle, Reggie was gone. Someone forced open the door and took the dog.

Not far down the road, a witness saw a passenger in a red Ford pickup truck throw Reggie out the window.

Morrill said the criminal doesn't understand how much pain they have caused.

“People don't understand that I don't have children, I don't have physical children. The animals, the dogs I do have, they are basically like my kids. They come to the gym every day, people love them, they know them. They get along great, they are part of the family. ,”

Morrill says he expects to be able to bring Reggie home from the clinic in a few days, but it will take longer than that for him to make a full recovery.

He hopes that 1-thousand dollar reward will lead to tips. You can call information in to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 436-tips.
