CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - Crisp County school board members hope to help turn the old A.S. Clark Elementary School into a recreation center.
They're talking with county officials about leasing the building.
The school was in use until last year.
Board Chairman Scott Forehand says it's a good location for recreation, and it's right across from a park.
"We are really hopeful that it will be put into use that will be available for the citizens of Crisp County and hopefully continue in some form or fashion as a educational facility," says Board Chairman Scott Forehand.
Forehand says they should know in the next few months whether the county will be able to take over the elementary school.
