American Legion members celebrate Make a Difference Day

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Members of the Albany American Legion Post 30 came together for a worthy cause.

They held a can food lunch drive in celebration of Make a difference day Saturday.

Around 50 people attended. Their admission to eat the lunch was to bring canned food items and laundry supplies. "The people that not only need the food for the pantry but also the men and women who need to laundry their clothes so that they can go to business appointments to get jobs," said Maxine Henderson, American Legion Auxiliary Director. 


The donated items will go to The Lord's Pantry and A Place for Hope organizations. This year's them for the luncheon was wear an apron that tells a story. Each participant was asked to share that story.
