Troopers Host Retiree Breakfast

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Retired Georgia State Patrol troopers, who worked at the Albany Post, get together with current troopers on Thursday.

About a dozen retired troopers from Post 40 returned to have breakfast with the troopers currently serving there.

Current Post Commander Sgt. Shawn Urquhart said many of the retired troopers had not seen each other for years, and she wanted them to share their experiences with today's troopers.

Most of the retired troopers say they are proud of the legacy being continued today.

"I am," said Retired Post 40 Commander Vince Fallin. "They got a great group of men and women now. It's a newer group now than when I was a trooper, but yes they do a great job on the highways keeping it safe."

The troopers hope to host these breakfasts on a regular schedule, and invite more Post 40 retired troopers to take part.
