ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany are being recognized by the state for their outreach program.
Leaders brought home Overall State Program Award from a meeting in Atlanta.
It's the highest honor they could receive.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany submitted their outreach program which outlines their after school plan with Dougherty County Schools.
What was the organization that reached out and had the top program in the state where you actually reached out and done something to make a difference in the community. And they felt that the Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany as you can see had the top program for the state of Georgia," said Bob Hutchinson, Boys and Girls Club of Albany.
Their program will now be submitted for a regional competition among 8 states.
Bob Hutchinson thanks the community for all of their support.
