A South Georgia high school is stepping up efforts to promote safe driving.
Colquitt County High School is competing for several prizes in the "Celebrate My Drive" campaign.
The State Farm Insurance contest teaches students about safe driving habits, while also giving them a chance to win money for their school.
This campaign hits home for these students who've experienced several high school tragedies involving car crashes.
"In the class above me, we lost four students to car accidents before graduation. And it's just been very hard on Moultrie. And that's why it's so important to everyone," said Karson DeMott, a senior at Colquitt High.
"We are trying to make sure that doesn't happen anymore or that we can eliminate the possibility by pushing safe driving habits for our students," said Stephanie Terrell, Principal at Colquitt High.
Thousands of schools across the country are competing to win prizes, like a $100,000 grant. The grand prize is a concert by The Bandy Perry.
