SYCAMORE, GA (WALB) - The city of Sycamore may not be getting a Dollar General store.
Mayor Wayne Woodruff says the Environmental Protection Agency is voicing concerns about the amount of wetlands on the proposed site for the store.
The mayor says the EPA has pointed out residents in town can shop at the Dollar General located in Ashburn.
Woodruff is wanting town residents to write the EPA and explain why that is not a viable option.
"Write letters stating as to why the city of Sycamore needed a Dollar General of their own here, which will make it much more convenient for our older citizens," he said.
The letters need to be returned to city hall. The plans for the Dollar General were approved in August.
