THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Thomas County celebrated a kickoff party for the community's Relay for Life Tuesday night.
Folks celebrated the event's 30th birthday with an 80's-themed party.
Earlier Tuesday afternoon, volunteers helped decorate Camp Piney Woods with everything 80's.
Participants, sponsors, and survivors came out to celebrate another fundraising season.
American Cancer Society's Relay Specialist Emily LaMontagne said, “The support we get in Thomas county. The amazing people who come out because they have a loved one who's fought cancer. People often say there's a feeling you get when you walk out on the field at Relay for Life. You can almost feel the hope in the air.”
This year's Relay for Life event will be held at Thomasville High School's track on May 15th.
