Citizens help VPD make drug arrest

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta police credit residents with helping them make another drug arrest.

Valdosta Police said Tuesday that 30 year-old Clauzell Culpepper was arrested at his West Magnolia Street home Monday afternoon after investigators found 14 grams of marijuana, guns and drug related equipment inside.

Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk said tips from several citizens led them to Culpepper. "[Investigators] did a search of the residence there, located a couple of firearms, also a small amount of marijuana that was packaged for distribution, so they were able to charge the person with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute."

Culpepper is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remained in the Lowndes County Jail Tuesday night.
