LAKE PARK, GA (WALB) - Two Lake Park men remain behind bars, charged with a string of recent burglaries.
Robert Atkins and Michael Nelson were arrested at their home in Lake Park Friday.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says Atkins broke into a home on Lauren Lane earlier this month as well as several unlocked cars in that area.
Michael Nelson is charged with theft by receiving stolen property for having a firearm that Atkins is accused of stealing from one of the cars.
"Through our investigation, we obtained video footage of a particular person trying to use one of the debit cards and that eventually led us to identify the people involved," said Lowndes County Sheriff's Lt. Stryde Jones.
The sheriff's office says this is a reminder to always lock your cars and never leave valuables inside.
