ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office is thanking the community for their support with a cookout.
Lots of folks were at Baldwin Park for the "Building Unity in the Community" cookout. There was free food, music, and games for the kids. Darton College even set up an obstacle course for people to try out.
"Our main emphasis behind the cookout is to bring people out on a beautiful day like today," said Sheriff Kevin Sproul, Dougherty County Sheriff. "Let them get to see the men and the women who serve them diligently in this community, who put their lives on the line whether they work in the jail, or whether they serve a warrant or work in the courtroom."
The cookout is also a chance for people to speak with Sheriff Sproul about any concerns they might have. This is the fifth year for the cookout.
The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office would like to thank its sponsors for helping them make the cookout a success: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Central Monitoring, Icons Bar and Grill, Flint River Services, Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, With Perfection Lawn Care, Triple Diamond Lounge and Odyssey Records.
