THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Volunteers in Thomas County are gearing up for their biggest service day of the year.
Rakes, shovels, and water bottles filled the city's auditorium Friday morning in preparation for Hands on Thomas County Day.
HOTC kicks off its 11th year of serving the community Saturday.
Nearly 1,400 volunteers will be donating more than 5,000 hours of time to non-profits in need.
HOTC Executive Director Angela Kiminas said, “Days like this make you feel really good about where you live. It makes you really proud when you see all these people come out, unite, and go out to do good for other people.”
The service day starts Saturday at 9 a.m. and lasts until noon.
