Dr. Grant educates on Ebola

Dr. Grant Dr. Grant
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - There has been some misconceptions about the ebola virus, how it spreads and where it came from.

The Georgia Department of Public Health says Ebola has been around since the 70's but this is the largest outbreak the cdc have seen.

All of the questions and concerns from georgians have been routed through the state until now.

Dr. Jacqueline Grant with the Georgia public health department will be addressing ebola to the Dougherty county commission on Monday at 10 am.

"I think knowledge is power awareness is power and I think the more people can know the better they'll feel. It's important to know that right now the disease is fairly well contained," she said.

Dr. Grant says it is important for health care workers to ask about previous travel a person may have done since the onset is much like the flu and we are in flu season.
