ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police say they have cleared the scene of a bomb threat at the East Albany Walmart.
According to investigators, someone called the store and told an employee there was an explosive device inside the building. Store management then called authorities concerning the threat.
The store was evacuated 5:45 p.m. and customers were asked to stay away from the building.
Bomb sniffing dogs were also dispatched to the scene to help search the building, which was cleared just before 6 p.m.
Store officials said they expected to open back up to customers around 7 p.m. Friday.
