ALBANY, GA (WALB) - New canoe and kayak launches in downtown Albany are almost finished.
The only thing workers have left to do at the launch in Riverfront Park is to pour some concrete.
Another one downtown is almost complete as well, while one at the Georgia Power dam is already open.
The downtown locations were scheduled to be finished months ago, but heavy spring rain kept the river level too high to do the work.
"Water rose and the typical things that happen when you do a river project, but we are really excited about it and I think all the canoe and kayak enthusiasts out there are just going to love it," said Downtown Manager Sharlene Cannon.
Workers will pour the concrete Wednesday, and those final two launches are expected to be ready by the weekend.
