One economic stimulator in Terrell County is attracting people to the area.
The Main Street Theatre in downtown Dawson brings in folks from all over South Georgia.
The buildings were bought in 2005 as an economic development project for the city. Organizers usually write their own plays and host them about three times a year.
"The economy, like every place is fairly slow. But we feel like the theater has really helped the economy. It brings people to town. And we also offer several classes in the afternoons, there are several things here that bring people to town as well," said Rhonda Gordon, a volunteer with the Main Street Theatre.
The theatre seats 150 people and organizers have about 4 showings of each play.
