TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - A Tift County Organization is recruiting new members to revitalize the club.
The Tifton 20th Century Library Club held a special meeting Tuesday to bring new members into the club.
The club currently has 27 members and is a part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs that supports domestic violence awareness.
"This is the 20th anniversary of the passage of the violence against women act,"
"Georgia has a high percentage of domestic cases and we certainly want to do what we can to support the ladies that are trying to free themselves,"
The club will celebrate their 110th anniversary next year. The club meets every month at Leroy Rogers Senior Center and will take household donations to support their women's shelter, Ruth Cottage. You can find out more about the club at www.gafwc.com.
