MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Senate hopeful David Perdue was one of thousands to brave thunderstorms at the Sunbelt Expo today in Moultrie.
Perdue spoke with farmers today about the importance of agriculture in the state.
He says holding the event in Georgia proves the state's big impact on the farming industry.
"I'm excited to be here," said Perdue. "When you look at the capabilities of these farmers and all the agribusinesses here, it's really staggering. We really are the bread basket of the world and we need to take that seriously."
Perdue faces democratic candidate Michelle Nunn in the November U.S. Senate election.
