Albany City Commissioner B.J. Fletcher is pushing for some changes to the city's strict downtown parking rules.
We believe it is time to make some changes to these rules so that downtown visitors can have more time to shop and dine.
"It's just something that I think is outdated, it's been on the books a long time. It's not going to mean anything economically to the community. It's not that big of a money maker to even worry about that," said B.J. Fletcher
The city does offer areas in downtown where there is unlimited parking but those areas need to be better marked to help visitors find them.
If we want our downtown area to grow, then everyone needs to feel welcome.
