VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The University System of Georgia's Board of Regents monthly meeting will be held at Valdosta State University on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The meeting began Tuesday morning with a presentation to the board by VSU President Dr. William McKinney. He emphasized the history of the university and why it's so important to the university system.
"In many ways, we are both a product of a very proud and very storied history...and very much a part of your new strategic plan of the university system," said Dr. McKinney.
The board also held a monthly meeting at North Georgia University at the beginning of the year as part of their goal to meet with two universities each year. They were last in Valdosta in October of 2003.
Wednesday's meeting will take place in the Magnolia Room at VSU's University Center. All parts of the meeting are open to the public, with the exception of executive sessions. You can view the full meeting agenda by visiting www.usg.edu/regents/meetings.
