37th Sunbelt Expo preps underway

Chip Blalock Chip Blalock
MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Sunbelt Ag Expo organizers are finishing up their final preps for their 37th opening Tuesday. Those involved have been slammed with work, from getting the paperwork in for the exhibitors to setting up tents.

Executive Director Chip Blalock says one of the more challenging parts of prepping is making sure the crops used for demonstrations are ready to be harvested. He says they have a three day window to pull through and farmers have been working very hard.

The 100 acre show will have over 1,200 exhibitors displaying and demonstrating the latest products and technology in the farming world

Blalock believes the show has expanded tremendously through the years and feels the success comes from the abundance of technological advances they have been able to expose their audiences to.

This year they will be showcasing three new exhibits including a UAV drone demo, a rural lifestyle demo that highlights backyard fruits, veggies and flowers, along with the Peterson Brothers from Arkansas.

The Sunbelt Ag Expo opens Tuesday morning at 8:30 and will last through Thursday. Admission is $10 per person per day. Its located off of Hwy 133 in Moultrie.
