ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Friends and family of James Isler gathered at Chehaw Park to help raised money for his kidney transplant.
Isler, who goes by A.D., has Kidney failure. He's on dialysis, but will eventually need a transplant.
On Saturday, supporters held a BBQ benefit and auction to help the family raise money for medical expenses.
Dozens of people came out to show their support for A.D. who found out the life cchangingnews last year.
"He has walked me through the steps that he has to do at home, and insurance doesn't cover everything and he's gonna need a kidney transplant, that takes a lot of time for them to be away from their home and work and we wanted to do something to be able to help the family," says organizer Amy Bacon.
There is also a fund set up in A.D.'s name at Suntrust Bank.
