Lots of runners laced up their shoes for the “Run for Wounded Heroes” at the Marine Corps Logistics Base.

The run benefits the Wounded Warrior's Project, which supports those who have been wounded in combat. There was a one mile, a 5k, and a 10k race. Runners say they want to show their support for the military.

"It was important because I have two Uncles that were in war and one of them was almost wounded so I want to support the ones that were wounded,” said Davon Davis, Runner.

"A run, words, money, services to the community, they don't do enough to say thank you to the good fellas who protect our freedom and serve everyday,” said Craig Murray, Runner.

WALB and Coldwell Banker Walden and Kirkland sponsored the second annual "Run for Wounded Heroes.”

Organizers hope to raise about $12,000 or more for the Wounded Warrior Project.
