ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Folks laced up their walking shoes to raise awareness about Down Syndrome.
More than one hundred people walked one mile around the track at Legacy Park for the 3rd Annual "Buddy Walk." Organizers say they want to educate mothers-to-be, because they say often times pregnant woman who find out their babies have Down Syndrome choose to have an abortion.
"They're given outdated information," said Kayla Luckie. "We basically just wanted to get people out here and see that they are kids. They love to get in the jump houses. They're kids, it can be a little challenging at times, but I mean being a parent to a typical child is challenging."
The walk included activities for kids, and food from Riverfront Barbeque.
