ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Water, gas, and light crews have finished replacing a utility pole on the 1500 block of Georgia Avenue.

APD said Jeremy Robinson, 20, of Moultrie was driving a green Ford F150 when he struck the utility pole.

The accident happened Saturday at 2:43 a.m.

APD said Robinson was attempting to negotiate a curve, but was driving too fast.

Robinson's car drove off the road and struck a wooden utility pole.

Crews said the pole was broken into several pieces.

Robinson was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Main to be treated for minor injuries.

Neighbors said they were without power for about six hours.

Crews were able to replace the entire utility pole and transformer and restore the power.

Charges are pending investigation.
