ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of South Georgia professionals hear one of Chick-Fil-A's former top executives talk about business and leadership.
Jimmy Collins was the third employee Truett Cathy hired when he started the Chick-Fil-A franchise.
Collins worked for the company for 32 years, becoming Chief Operating Officer.
Collins told the gathering at Sherwood Baptist Church that businesses need good followers as well as leaders and need to teach young employees about common sense.
Collins said "Not many of them are learning the principals that we older folks were steeped in when we were young. But you know they go for it. When I talk to young people and explain this and I tell them, they get excited."
Everyone who attended the business lecture received a copy of his book "Creative Followership."
