Sheriff Hester Sheriff Hester
TURNER CO., GA (WALB) -

Two Turner County women are accused of scamming an elderly man out of $12,000.

Tammy Cole and her daughter Kendra Hill are charged with Exploitation and Intimidation of an Elderly Person.

Cole, a carrier for the Albany Herald, convinced a man on her route to give her money for personal use.

Her daughter met the man through her mom and also got money from him.

They're accused of taking 6,000 each in cash and checks.

The Albany Herald's Corporate Circulation director says no one should pay carriers directly.

Cole is in jail charged with 26 counts. Hill has 4 counts and has bonded out.

Hill told us she did borrow money from the man, and doesn't think she did anything wrong.
