ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany convenience store clerk is proud he didn't fall for two scammers' flim-flam scheme.
Police said the two men went into the Flash Foods in the 2400 block of North Slappey just after 6 p.m. Wednesday and asked to buy a $500 cash card.
When the clerk activated the prepaid card, the two men said they didn't have enough money to pay for it, then dropped it on the floor and switched it with a worthless card.
The manager had just been warned by Flash Foods officials about this theft scheme being pulled at other stores in Georgia.
The clerk was able to get the card back and the men left in a newer model silver Nissan Maxima.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
