VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta is offering free breast cancer screenings Thursday evening.
The hospital is hosting the first of two screening events Thursday night from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. All of Thursday night's slots did get filled. The event's coordinator said she is glad to see the community taking an interest in their health
"We love that; anytime there's a cancer event that we're promoting is actually full during registration," said Courtney Orr, Community Health Promotions Coordinator at SGMC. "We think it's great that the community is conscious and aware of the different health needs that are going' on."
The next event will be on October 23rd from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at SGMC's Healthcare South Clinic. You can register by calling 229-433-1074.
