Crashes can cost you

Eddie Hall Eddie Hall
Vehicle crashes can be costly, not just because of the repairs, but medical costs as well.

In 2012 2.5 million people were sent to hospitals with injuries because of crashes. A new report by the CDC says each crash-related emergency visit costs an average of $3,300.

Auto insurance agents say it's important to have adequate liability coverage.

"You want to make sure you have enough to take care of your assets. So if you have a nice home and cars, and maybe a business you want to make sure if you get sued they can't come back and wind up with your home," said Eddie Hall with Albany Insurance Services, Inc.

The report found drivers aged 15 to 29 are at especially high risk for crashes.
