THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomas University's Men's Soccer Team is doing more than just breaking records for the school.

The Nighthawks are nationally ranked number one for the first time in the school's history.

But their undefeated season isn't just about bringing in trophies and awards.

University President Gary Bonvillian said the attention they've gathered has huge potential to make an impact on student enrollment in the coming years.

Bonvillian said, "As a school grows and thrives and becomes better known, everybody benefits, even the alumni who have been gone for years.  Because now your school is in the spotlight. So, we're happy to be able to do that. "

Bonvillian said the success of the athletic department has definitely improved student life, which he hopes will appeal to more traditionally-aged students.
