THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - South Georgians joined an effort to acknowledge manufacturers for the value and impact they have on our economy.
Friday October 3 was National Manufacturing Day.
Folks in Thomasville celebrated by touring the Wilo headquarters.
U.S. Representative Austin Scott said plants like this show how South Georgia is a place where manufacturers can thrive.
Scott said, "The northern states passed additional rules and regulations that drive up the cost of doing business. We in Georgia stand to benefit from that. So we want to go out and get those industries to move to south Georgia."
Scott said he hopes this day will reiterate how important it is to focus on bringing more manufacturers to America.
