Albany police have protective containment jumpsuits

Ebola concerns spurred the Marietta Police Department to fast-track a plan to get disposable protective suits for officers.

It's something the Albany Police Department already has. Officers carry protective kits in all their cars that include a mask, CPR mouth protector, and a full jumpsuit. The suits protect officers from bodily fluids during unusual emergencies.

"Often times officers will run into a situation where the people that we encounter may offer bodily fluids. This is just one of the other methods that we have to help assist us and protect us in the event that we are put in a situation like that," said Sgt. E. Duron Thompson of the Albany Police Department.

APD has had the suits in each cruiser for a couple years.
