VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Changes are being made to the Family Planning program at the Georgia Department of Health in Lowndes County.
You will now be required pay and show I.D. to use the services the program provides. Anyone over 19 will have to show proof of income in order to receive a reduced fee, otherwise they may have to pay full price.
"Even though they may go down to a hundred percent discount, then there will still be a small amount that they would have to pay," explained Lowndes County Nurse Manager Norma Jean Johnson.
The changes are being made because the health department did not receive a grant that they have received in the past. They can reapply for the grant in three years.
