Drug unit makes multiple Douglas arrests

DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

On Thursday, Douglas Coffee Co. Drug Unit agents executed a search warrant at 62 Mahogany Rd. in Douglas following a brief investigation. 

Detectives seized several packages of methamphetamine and a small quantity of marijuana, and arrested the resident, Douglas Alvin Hester, for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. 

Noel Barnes and George Williams were also there at the time, and were both wanted for outstanding arrest warrants, and taken in. Barnes has also been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

Two days earlier, Coffee Drug Unit detectives initiated a traffic stop on Madison Ave. 

Bobby Carl Brown, Jr, jumped out and ran, but was quickly apprehended. Detectives located a small quantity of cocaine, two small packages of marijuana, a .25 caliber handgun and $1,200.00 cash in the vehicle. 

They charged Brown with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers; weapons charges are pending. 

DCDU is currently searching for the passenger, Marquis Jerome Jaques, who got away. He is wanted for Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers and outstanding arrest warrants not associated with this incident.
