THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomas County's One Book Project kicked off Thursday night as participants took part in a mock trial to get a better look at our judicial system.
The One Book Project is a community literacy project that asks residents to read a particular book.
This year, folks will read
It's a true story written by a man who was imprisoned for 11 years after being falsely identified in a police lineup, and by the woman who chose him.
Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lauren Basford said, “This is just a way for us to show the public how the system can be manipulated and how these things can happen.”
Both authors of
will be coming to Thomasville later this month to talk to readers about their life-changing experience.
