Baker Co. man arrested on multiple child sex charges

NEWTON, GA (WALB) - William Morris, 64, who has several adopted and foster children, is accused of statutory rape, incest, and enticing a child for indecent purposes in Baker County.

An investigation was started by the Baker County sheriff's Office after a request by DEFACS and the Baker Co. School System, on September 18.

Investigators found reason to charge Morris, and he turned himself in to deputies on Tuesday of this week. He was booked into the Calhoun County jail, and was granted bond the same day.

Six children, ranging in age from one to 14, were removed from the home, and are in the custody of the state.

Baker County Sheriff Dana Meade says the investigation is on-going, and they won't make any more statements on the case at this time.
