ALBANY, GA (WALB) - At a forum tonight at Mt. Zion Baptist Church parents got hands-on experience with new technology their children will soon use in school.
They tested out the tablets Dougherty County schools will hand out and asked questions about internet safety and tablet liability.
"We have software that will filter and insure that our children don't get to inappropriate websites and content and if they do we have the ability to see what they're doing," said Cheryl Smith, Coordinator of Instructional Improvement.
" At first I had my doubts, which was one of the reasons why i'm glad I came out because I got the answers that I needed and i'm in full support of it, "said Belinda Tyson, parent.
Software is currently being installed on the tablets.
Students at some schools could get their tablets as soon as November.
