ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany police help a neighborhood organize an official neighborhood watch program after their tips on social media help lead to the arrest of a suspected serial burglar this month.

Sgt. William Henry spoke to residents of the Lake Park Neighborhood Tuesday night on how to organize an official neighborhood watch and put up watch signs.

Residents expressed concerns about kids on golf carts,  speeders and solicitors.

Neighborhood watch are a great way to cut down on crime in particular neighborhoods and you know call the police. That was the biggest takeaway I had,” said John Inman, resident.

"It doesn't matter how simple it seems. If it doesn't look right to you give us a call. That may be the missing piece that we're looking for,” said Sgt. William Henry, Albany Police Department.

The Lake Park Neighborhood Watch will continue efforts through their Facebook page. but they'll also have actual meetings every three months.
