Business expanding in Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The restaurant group named Albany's Small Business of the Year is expanding again.

Stewbo's will open Local Jerry's next month in the old Wagners Bar-b-que location Dawson Road and Meredyth Drive.

The Drive-Thru restaurant will have hamburgers, hot dogs,  milkshakes, and even fried bologna sandwiches.

They're in the process of hiring 15-workers they promise will help create a family-friendly environment.

We just hope that it gives people another good place to come through and get a bite for them and their kids. Something to pick up quick but something that is also fresh and good,” said Bo Henry, owner.

The group initially wanted to bring back the legendary Arctic Bear but scrapped that when some family members of the late founder objected.

Henry also said the Local Jerry name is based on a fictional character who has a love for Albany and south Georgia culture
