ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County Commissioners give the go ahead to move forward with work to improve drainage in four areas.
One area is near Sam's Club on Westover Boulevard where County officials say they've gotten a lot of complaints.
Public Works Director Larry Cook says they'll also make improvements on Honeysuckle Drive along Highway 19, and Spring Flats Road.
"All those three locations spring flats and honeysuckle were iinundatedwith water, and stayed closed. I actually had to close the road off, especially Honeysuckle, which we are trying to maintain access to," says Dougherty County Public Works Director Larry Cook.
After heavy flooding in 2009, county leaders made a list of problem areas, and they've fixed problems in many of those areas.
Cook says anyone who has concerns about storm drainage issues can contact the Public Works Department.
