ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County school parents are encouraged to attend a series of meetings as the system gets ready to implement their "One to One Technology" initiative.
Some parents met at Southside Middle school for an advisory council meeting Monday.
While parents are excited for children to have access to a tablet, they are concerned about how it will work.
"It's just a big change. We've never embarked on this before. And I know security is a big thing. I even talked with some teachers, they had some concerns about that, so," said concerned parent Michael Nelson.
The school system is hosting a community meeting tomorrow at 5:30 at Mount Zion Baptist Church at 901 South Westover Boulevard.
In addition to a discussion, there will also be demonstrations with the new technology.
