ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Workers are preparing to drop the water level on Lake Chehaw this Wednesday.
Its done every year so improvements can be made to the dam, and property owners who live around the lake can do some work on their docks.
One man says he enjoys fishing when the lake level is lowered.
“Well it makes for some good fishing when they pull it down, of course a lot of people like to come in here and site see and stuff, and it makes for some good fishing, I catch a lot of stripes when its down,” says homeowner Frank Bruner.
Residents are encouraged to secure their boats during the drawdown which will run through the end of October.
