Some Dougherty County leaders gathered at Radium Springs Middle School Friday morning to teach students what it means to take "Positive Action".
Several students performed before Sheriff Kevin Sproul, Chief Judge Willie Lockette and Retired Chief Petty Officer Rodney Harris addressed the crowd.
Sheriff Sproul encouraged students to make good choices and enjoy the freedom of being a youth. "Many men and women have shed blood to give you all the freedoms that you have today," said the Sheriff. "Do not throw those freedoms away. Do not sell yourself short."
Organizers say they hope students take away the message of the event which is, "If it is to be; It is up to me; Because I shall succeed."
