ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you are looking for a way to introduce your kids to the outdoor opportunities Georgia has to offer, The Department of National Resources is offering a free day.
Free events are going on all across our state this Saturday.
National Hunting and fishing day started in 1972 in order to bring awareness to conserving our natural resources for future generations.
In celebration families can fish for free at state parks and lakes without a license Saturday September 27th..
On Saturday those that may not have had the opportunity to try this popular sport will now have the chance.
Ranger Eric White says "Whether it be not being able to purchase a license or just not knowing what this is is just to make public aware of the resources and activities that we can do in our state."
All fishing regulations will still apply and the rangers ask when you are out enjoying the outdoors if you see any illegal or suspicious activity, or poaching call the 24 hour hotline at 1-800-241-4413
